As you may know, with the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) throughout the United States, our everyday lives have been forced to drastically change.  For a child who has experienced abuse or neglect, this may be just another season of turmoil - because of isolation, lack of social connections and potentially, poor mental and emotional health.  Sadly, child dependency, abuse, and neglect are expected to rise in numbers as our community faces the COVID-19 pandemic. With children out of school, families confined to homes, and many parents under increased financial strain, child welfare advocates are predicting an increase in the rates of child abuse, especially in our large urban centers. As children are now at home out of the public eye, they are also out of the sight of caring and reliable individuals who may be able to identify the signs of abuse or neglect and intervene.

Child and Family Advocates of Cuyahoga County and our dedicated CASA volunteers are committed to ensuring that these vulnerable children do not go unnoticed. Please donate today to support our work and help to protect children at risk. Thank you!
